This week, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy organized the Digital Summit 2019 in Dortmund. In this context, a concept for a GDPR Code of Conduct on pseudonymization, which we helped to develop, was published. Also, the official recommendations of the data-ethics-commission, a multi-stakeholder working group installed by the German government advising on the ethical use of data, were presented at the summit. Our take: we welcome the direct recommendation for credible self- and co-regulatory tools outlined in the report.
