Door-to-door sales remain an important component of the telecommunications sector, supporting both the expansion of fiber-optic networks and the achievement of the German government’s gigabit targets for nationwide access to high-performance internet connectivity. In addition to fiber services, consultations also cover other telecommunications products, including gigabit connections and TV services. Consumers particularly benefit from the personalized advice and direct support provided in their homes.
The renewed conformity assessment is an important signal for us that our consulting approach is on the right track. It is important to us to inform consumers in a transparent, understandable, and respectful manner. Personal contact on site enables us to better explain the transition to fiber optics, which often requires clarification, and to address individual questions, says LEONET Sales Director Sascha Sölter.
The renewed assessment once again shows that the standards set out in the Door-to-Door Code of Conduct are implemented in practice and make an important contribution to transparent and reliable customer consultations, added Gabriela Mercuri, Managing Director of SCOPE Europe.
The Door-to-Door Code of Conduct is a voluntary code of conduct specifically designed for telecommunications providers and governs all aspects of door-to-door sales. The Code stands for responsible and transparent services, building on existing legal requirements and further specifying them for practical implementation. It sets out clear requirements for the qualification and conduct of sales representatives, transparent communication of sales intentions, as well as reliable complaint channels and procedures for monitoring and addressing potential violations. The Code was initiated by VATM with the aim of ensuring high-quality door-to-door sales through clear and verifiable standards and strengthening consumer trust in this sensitive sales channel.
