It is the season of events. Our colleagues Frank Ingenrieth and Laura Wiesenfeld will present the EU Cloud CoC as a unique tool to uphold GDPR compliance at two events in Denmark. Here’s a short summary of July highlights for you:
3 General Assembly members declared adherence to the EU Cloud CoC, with Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Okta joining the public registry. We made an announcement for the IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress in Brussels. Panelists Pierre Chastanet (DG CNECT, European Commission), Oliver Draf (Volkswagen), and Stephanie Finck (Salesforce) were joined by our Managing Director Jörn Wittmann.

It is a pleasure to kick-off this June edition by welcoming Temenos as the newest member of the EU Cloud CoC General Assembly. This addition is not only building further cohesion across the cloud industry but also fosters crucial synergies with the banking sector. Make sure you read the full press release via the link below.
Also in June, SCOPE Europe and SRIW jointly responded to the EDPB consultation on the 2022/04 Guidelines on Administrative Fines. In this regard, we were thrilled to contribute to this exercise, which we deem indispensable for the optimization of the EU regulatory environment. May is a special month for us at SCOPE Europe and in 2022, besides commemorating 4 years of GDPR implementation, we celebrate the EU Cloud CoC first approval anniversary. Our community is thrilled to look back and observe how far we have already advanced when it comes to building trust in cloud services and boost its adoption throughout Europe. The Code's General Assembly is keen to keep pace with an increasingly complex regulatory environment by continually posing optimal solutions, supporting several stakeholders in their day-to-day compliance efforts.
In the spirit of celebration, we are pleased to share that Cloudflare is the Code's newest member, further expanding this unique ecosystem and solidifying robust GDPR implementation across the industry. Make sure you read the full press release by clicking on the dedicated link below.
Another great piece of news May has brought upon us was the inclusion of the EU Cloud CoC in the Cisco's Cloud Controls Framework (CCF). The instrument, which is now publicly available and free of charge, gathers several globally recognized standards - such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and C5 - and has the EU Cloud CoC playing a crucial role in the privacy sphere. Last, but definitely not least, we have a couple of highly interesting events coming up. On June 28, we will be joining one of IAPPs Virtual Tokyo KnowledgeNet and a bit later, two of our experts will be making their way to Denmark to the upcoming Innovation & Compliance Conference hosted by Technology Denmark. We have basically blinked and May is already here and upon us. April was an extremely busy and yet highly interesting and productive month on SCOPE Europe's end. We have crossed the Atlantic to join the IAPP Global Privacy Summit and were thrilled to present the EU Cloud CoC's latest developments, particularly when it comes to the Third Country Data Transfers Module. Besides having an insightful panel on the 13th, we were delighted to meet several colleagues as well as members, collaborators and supporters of our projects. As a result of these encounters, we ended up featuring in the latest episode of the Serious Privacy Podcast, which was truly a pleasure. Talking about exiting events, SCOPE Europe is looking forward to taking the stage at the upcoming 2022 CPDP conference in Brussels. Our Managing Director, Jörn Wittmann, will join an outstanding group of panelists to celebrate the one-year approval anniversary of the EU Cloud CoC.
