The Future of Cybersecurity: new Commission, new priorities?

SCOPE Europe

The European Committee for Interoperable Systems (ECIS) invited SCOPE Europe to speak at the annual end-of-year event on "The Future of Cybersecurity" on 29 November 2018.

According to recent reports the market potential for cloud, in particular the need to mix and match public and private cloud, will grow exponentially over the next years. As services and infrastructures move increasingly to the cloud, the need for strong and demonstrable data protection and cyber security is paramount. How will the Commission build more trust in the Cloud in its coming mandate? What role will the Cyber Act and Cloud security certification schemes play? And can compliance with NIS and GDPR be aided and improved through using the Cloud?

The European Committee for Interoperable Systems (ECIS) brings together academic research, civil society and regulators to discuss the future of cybersecurity. SCOPE Europe's Managing Director Jörn Wittmann will join the panel to give insights on the implications of GDPR and data protection for cybersecurity.
