With this successful assessment of adherence, Deutsche GigaNetz highlights not only the quality of individual customer consultations, but also the robust organisational structures that support them. The Door-to-Door Code of Conduct requires participating companies to establish clear processes for the selection, authorisation, training, and oversight of sales representatives. Consumer protection is therefore not viewed solely through the lens of individual interactions, but as an organisational responsibility embedded throughout the entire distribution chain.
The assessment, conducted for the first time by SCOPE Europe, the independent monitoring body, evaluates these underlying structures and safeguards. This is particularly important in door-to-door consultations, where consumers must be able to rely on transparent and accountable processes, including the clear identification of representatives, verifiable information, and access to effective complaint and redress mechanisms.
Commenting on the renewed confirmation of adherence, Wolfram Thielen CRO at Deutsche GigaNetz, said:
Responsible door-to-door sales do not begin at the doorstep. What matters are clear requirements, thorough preparation and effective processes within the sales organisation. Especially where new digital infrastructure is being developed, consumers often have specific questions about availability, connection options, contract migration and usage. The renewed conformity assessment confirms that we are consistently pursuing this standard.
Gabriela Mercuri, Managing Director of SCOPE Europe, commented:
Door-to-door sales remain an important part of the telecommunications sector. They help advance the rollout of fibre-optic networks and access to gigabit-capable internet. The assessment of adherence under the Door-to-Door CoC confirms that companies such as Deutsche GigaNetz assume responsibility for transparent, structured and consumer-oriented door-to-door sales.
