First of all, we hope this finds you well and healthy. Yesterday, we submitted our feedback to the consultation of the European Commission’s report on the application of GDPR - including our recommendations and perspectives. Another piece worth reading is a joint article we published this week in the IAPP "Privacy Advisor", discussing the key success factors for third-country transfer tools. More on these two publications - and some other recent activities - below.

GDPR review report
Togehter with SRIW, we submitted feedback to the European Commission’s report on the application of GDPR. Among our key takeaways: Legal certainty for third country transfers is needed, in particular the update of Standard Data Protection Clauses in the processor-to-processor environment. Also, while many benefits of Codes of Conduct and Monitoring Bodies are already helping organizations to implement GDPR, some obstacles and unclarities are still hindering the full potential of this tool (e.g. unclear procedural aspects).
